Denise Rule MS, CCC-SLP

Hi, my name is Denise and I am a Speech-Language Pathologist based in Sacramento, Ca. I am the owner and clinical director at Dynamic Dysphagia Solutions. I provide mobile swallow studies and swallow therapy across the Greater Sacramento region, as well as providing mentorship in FEES training and building FEES programs across California.

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and my Master's degree in Speech Pathology at Sacramento State University. I completed my clinical internship at UC Davis Medical Center, went on to gain years of experience at California Pacific Medical Center and UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco, Ca.

Along with numerous CEU courses in assessment and treatment of swallowing and swallowing disorders, I received mentorship and training in Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) at UCSF Medical Center. I have attended, as well as mentored in, Susan Langmore's Foundation FEES Course in San Francisco. After honing my FEES skills and completing hundreds of exams, I completed SA Swallowing Services' Advanced FEES course. I continue to complete regular CEU courses, with a focus on dysphagia assessment and treatment. Areas of special interest include tracheostomy & ventilator dependence, post-head & neck cancer treatment, neurological disorders, end of life care, and dysphagia in medically complex patients.

After moving back to Sacramento, I continued to see the need for improved access to instrumental assessments, as well as the need for quality dysphagia therapy with a focus on evidence-based practice and patient-centered goals. I have also witnessed the limited access to FEES all across California, which is why I will soon be offering mentorship for FEES training and consultations for building a FEES program at your facility or hospital.

I currently live in West Sacramento with my husband who is an accomplished photographer (see banner photos), along with our fun and active two-year old son. We love to explore the outdoors and cook together, as well as participate in local community events.
